In its natural Habitat, the Dawn Redwood quickly reaches heights up to 110 feet with a 25 foot spread. The original Dawn Redwood Bonsai trees are hearty conifers that have a lacey type of needled foliage on gracefully upswept branches. The needles are deciduous and quite pretty in the fall when the airy light green spray turns to yellow and then to bronze before shedding from the trees. Redwood Bonsai trees make wonderful sights and this can be attributed to the way in which the Redwood tapers away from its root flare which is broad and heavy. Dawn Redwood Bonsai trees feature trunks with reddish bark that are well grooved and strikingly straight and slim; if the trunk is especially large and heavy it will be well suited as a formal upright.
Each live plant is shipped with the Phytosanitary Certificate as required by the USDA.

Beautiful product, very satisfied. Brussels nursery is did not dissapoint. Excellent specimen. I live in a USDA 8a my only complaint is that the seller should mention the tree does need a bit of humidity if you live in a bone dry area like my self, i live in el paso Texas. Also couldnt find what conditions the tree was under before being purchased. This is a problem because you cannot take a tree out of a green house (indirect or artificial sunlight) and stick it straight in the sun and expect it to survive. The tree has to be slowely acclimated in order to survive,…

… than I thought it would be and was in great condition upon arrival I now have 5 Brussel’s Bonsai trees including a whole forest. This latest one was a challenge to unpack. It took 3 hours and wore me out. When I finally got the cubic yard of plastic peanuts out of the box, branches, and trunks, I had a very impressive forest of my own. It was much heavier than I expected at probably 40#. I did get it carried to my Bonsai work table and started cleaning up the bent and broken branches. The damage is so minimal that by the time I get finished…
