The leaves on Kotohime are among the smallest of the Japanese maples. The growth habit is upright with heavy branching. Trees may eventually reach 5 to 6 foot tall, but only after many years. The very small leaves are palmate, resemble a human hand. New leaves are bright red at the leaf edges, with green at the centers, then become bright green. ‘Hime’ means literally ‘Princess’ but here indicates a dwarf.
Each live plant is shipped with the Phytosanitary Certificate as required by the USDA.

Healthy, well packaged, proper Bonsai Pot Very healthy tree, about 14″ with pot. Next day delivery arrived on time (TN to MD). Not sure if it was from Amazon FBA warehouse, or direct from Brussels Nursary but the soil was still moist. Lots of new growth. Slightly trimmed for fitting the box.I like the real Bonsai pot with wires for the roots (you don’t pick the color, just appreciate a free pot, they could bag this up for the same price or charge another $20-$50 for a “kit” like some other vendors…
